Start with the symptom you see. For a blocked purchase, read the returned reason before trying again.
Restart an open coding-agent session after installation. In a hosted chat client, start a new conversation and enable the connection. Check the client’s MCP connection settings. For an SDK application, confirm that you added the helper to the correct framework option. Follow your integration guide.
For personal agents, complete the client-specific sign-in step in Connect your agent. For SDK applications, check that AGENTMUXER_API_KEY is available to the server process, has no surrounding whitespace, and has not been revoked. Check that the application is enabled. API keys do not need OAuth.
Give it a concrete task and explicitly ask it to use AgentMuxer. Check framework tool filters and permissions. Make sure the agent loop allows multiple tool calls: discovery, inspection, and execution are separate steps.
Follow the approval prompt in a client that supports it. Framework approval and AgentMuxer payment confirmation are separate. For unattended applications, review payment confirmation. The account setting also affects personal agents. Changing a framework allowlist alone does not remove AgentMuxer’s confirmation requirement.
Open the returned top-up link or your dashboard. Review the account balance and application spending limit. An application cap is a lifetime limit, not a monthly allowance. Creating another key for the same application does not reset its usage.
Search again if the listing is unavailable. Inspect the selected tool’s current interface and match its parameter names, types, and required fields. Correct the input before retrying.
A client timeout does not prove that a purchase failed. Check the existing call in your dashboard and retain its invocation ID and original idempotency key.Do not issue a replacement purchase with a new key just because you did not receive the response. To retry the same purchase, keep the original arguments and key. See purchase retries.
With Vercel AI SDK, keep the MCP connection open until the stream is consumed. A web handler must arrange cleanup for stream completion, error, and cancellation. See the Vercel guide.
Review the response and sources before relying on them. A successful provider response does not guarantee that it answers your task.Ask the agent to report not-useful through report_outcome. Reporting feedback does not itself refund a purchase. Contact support if you need help investigating a charge.
